VA3GAK   Gerald  Andrew Kocha

KOCHA, Gerald Andrew -   Passed away suddenly at home, at the age of 66.

Predeceased by his parents Epifany and Elizabeth Kocha (nee Lukij).

He will be deeply missed by his brother Walter Kocha and sister-in-law Mary Packowski.

Gerald had a tremendous love and affection for, and was adored by his three nieces: Christa, Katrinka and Ilyana Kocha.

He graduated from Brock University and obtained an advanced degree in International Relations in Sweden.

He had a wide range of experiences that included that of a Junior Officer in the Canadian Army, the military reserves subsequently and in immigration.

He was a Licensed Private Investigator a trained Paralegal. He had a great love of learning, most recently completing a chef's course. He spent his latter years in security. He was a dedicated and unstinting caretaker for both of his parents in the last years of their lives.

Gerry was also an avid Ham Radio operator. Angelo VA3ACO, introduced him to The 350 Group and was active till he down sized into a condo and put an end to his HF privileges.

Obituary for Norman Richardson

Norman Albert Richardson died at his home in Englehart on June 6, 2012. He was born in Kirkland Lake on July 19, 1966, to John and Vera Richardson. He was educated at Kirkland Lake Collegiate and Vocational Institute and at Cambrian College. Mr. Richardson wore several hats: he was a miner, surveyor, project manager and mine superintendent. Most recently he was employed in human resources at Kirkland Gold. Mr. Richardson truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a positive demeanor and was very kind to everyone he met. He enjoyed gathering with family in Toronto on several occasions and travelled to see family and friends in Northern Manitoba. He and his fiancée Victoria met during a Ham radio event in 2008. During this time they travelled together to conventions and related events, enjoying interaction with crowds. He very much enjoyed cooking, fishing trips, ice fishing and hunting. He first started off with CB radio at the age of 15 and obtained his full Ham Radio Licence (VE3NLH) at 21. He was an avid user and advocate of Ham and was known around the world. Mr. Richardson is survived by his sister Juanita Richardson (Matti Jalakas); brother Neil Richardson (Tana); nieces and nephews Leah, Heather and Kevin Richardson, August, Natalie and Julius Jalakas; and fiancée Victoria Svatina. He was predeceased by his parents John and Vera Richardson. Family and friends gathered to celebrate Mr. Richardson’s life on June 10. Cremation has taken place. In memory contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at

We are sad to announce the passing of a dear friend Norm Albert Richardson of Englehart Ont. better known to us as VE3NLH/VE3HIQ, Norm past away at his home of a heart attack at the age of 45 on June 6th 2012.

Thomas A. Korycki Obituary
Thomas A. Korycki, 65 of Chardon, passed away Thursday March 5, 2015.
Born July 21, 1949 in Cleveland, he has been a resident of Chardon for 38 years.
Thomas was an avid Ham operator (KC8QGJ). He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Chardon, a member of Laborer's Local 860, of 1721 Ragchew and of the 160 Club of Ham Operators. He was an avid train collector, and loved babysitting his grand-daughters, and also enjoyed fishing for walleye and perch and camping.
Survivors are his beloved wife of 44½ years Karen (nee Metz); children, Anna M. Korycki and Heather E. (Chad) Gady; grandchildren, Alexis and Aubrey; mother Victoria (nee Kaczmarek); siblings Timothy (Pam) and Wayne (Kory Landscaping).
He is preceded in death by his father Benjamin.
Funeral mass will be held Monday March 9th 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 401 North St. in Chardon.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday March 8th at Jack Monreal – Coyne Funeral Home, 31925 Vine Street in Willowick. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.
